Round One

Round One reveals much about other players, and is key into entering the midgame.

First Play:

If you're the first player, each card should be used strategically. Some cards are better than others - these are the cards to use.

• Use means "use this card", while avoid means "use the other card".

Guard:

Use: Guard, Baron, Handmaid, Prince, King, Countess, Princess

Avoid: Priest

Priest:

Use: Guard, Priest, Baron, King, Countess, Princess

Avoid: Handmaid, Prince

Baron:

Use: Baron, King, Countess, Princess

Avoid: Guard, Priest, Handmaid, Prince

Handmaid:

Use: Priest, Baron, Handmaid, Prince, King, Countess, Princess

Avoid: Guard

Prince:

Use: Priest, Baron, Prince, King, Princess

Avoid: Guard, Handmaid, Countess

¹King:

Use: Princess

Avoid: Guard, Priest, Baron, Handmaid, Prince, Countess

¹Countess:

Use: Prince, King, Princess

Avoid: Guard, Priest, Baron, Handmaid

Princess:

Use: Never use the Princess.

Avoid: Always use a different card.
